Pl create a webfax that I can send to my Senator or congresswoman. Or create a package that we can print and mail to the senators/reps.

Pappu bhai do something regarding this.

Rax1, why do you need PAPPU to do something, why can you not call and Fax something yourself? Are you not proficient in English, are you not educated enough.

Can you not write a ONE page letter spedifying what happened on July 2nd and how it affected your life and that of your family? Can you not call your local senator and congressperson and educate them about what went down on July 2nd?

Come on people, if you want JUSTICE, get up and do something YOURSELF. All we are asking you to do is Write ONE page letters. Does The IV core have to spoon feed us EVERYTHING? If you are busy ask someone in your family to do this for you.

I am very junior member on IV forums and have listened to all the experts and senior members on IV from time to time. Very solid ideas and very intelligent people! Although, I am not too familiar with the intricacies of what DOS said or what USCIS said; what I know is that there are many thousands of us who are here in a limbo for many many years. I think we have been "super- nice" to USCIS and Congress in the way we have approached them for our problems and rightly so - thats just us!

We have done our best educate them via lobbying efforts etc but wouldnt you agree that its time be a little more "assertive' now. Seriously, we dont know what the bigger picture is here. Year after Year, Month after month nothing moves with USCIS. Same old grim Visa Bulletin. I had written elsewhere that I dont even remember what my dates are anymore! Being in a western country or anywhere else in the world for 10-12 years is a long time. The culture, the enviroment and the system grows on you. Most of us left from India or elsewhere, when we were in our mid 20s . As young adults most of were explorers - soaking information, knowledge, new skills etc as we embarked on our journey to settle down in a foreign country. I think its fair to say that most of us have actually acquired our adult wisdom here. What I am getting to, is that when people talk about packing their bags and going back home - it may only be easier said than done!

I am not an expert at this but I believe we may have to come together again and we will need more visibility - maybe a six month long agressive assertive campaign - letters, flowers, rally and more all together so that we can catch congress' attention. It seems like legislation is the only way out here. Again, please pardon my inability to comprehend issues correctly, if I am wrong in saying so, but if we continue to rely on visa bulletins and USCIS; nothing is going to happen. All I can say is that whatever leaders and intellects at IV decide, I am here in anyway you all need me to help! Please feel free to ask for help at jaisinghaII@gmail.com. Thank you for reading my post.

My attorney told me that there is a chanse that they will be able to approve my DS230 this time, before the retro will hit us again in August. Hope his data is correct. Usually they need 5 - 8 weeks for DS230. And as far as I understand the process, they work with DS230 only if your PD is current, so until the 17-th of August we might hear some good news about DS230. But this is the only positive outcome of the July VB for us.
If the October VB shows "current" for our PD we would have our appointment in consulate. Othervise, no GC in near future.
From my point of view, the chanses to have our interview in october or november are slim. There is a lot of applicants in EB3 before us + I485 recent August approvals. Where they will find visas for AOS applicants? They have already waisted all visa numbers for 2007, but still alowing to file I485... About I485 I am not sure, correct me if I am wrong. Anyway, I believe that there will be severe retrogression begining from the next Fiscal Year.
The only hope we have - is "bridge legislation" for schedule A. Without it even persons on advanced stages of CP will have to wait months or even years for the interview:::((((

    P.S.
Just curious.:::))) Where are you from, peyton sawyer? Where in the US are you going to live? I am going to High Point, NC.

    Hi! I have some questions:

    1. Do you have a lawyer when you filed the first MTR or did you do it by yourself?

    2. Did you submit a copy of the I-140 approval and the AC21 memo during MTR?

    Thanks.

This is very bad . considering the fact that people have been put in to this endless wait of retrogression. FY2006 they wasted 11k visas and the whole year dates were retrogressed for most of the countries

With so many of us waiting for GCs for 5/10/15 years, makes me wonder what exactly is the motivation??what benefits/advantages does the GC bring ?one major advantage is that the spouse can work (which many of us already have -thanks to july 2007). So being on EAD or Green card-how is this different from h1b?what are some things one can do on GC that they were not able to do on h1b??i am trying to motivate myself for the long wait and need to reinforce that its indeed worth it..

multiple year eads & ap - may or may not happen
    visa recapture - no chance
visa increase - will not happen

    still contribute??

They said the same thing about Clinton having the Dem nomination locked up a year ago. :) Do not underestimate the power of grassroots organization, unified efforts, public awareness and its influence over the representatives, call/fax/flower campaigns and active lobbying. Do not get discouraged and keep trying till you succeed.
The Multi-Year EAD happened today. Others will too. All we have to do is try and follow the Action Items. And urge others to join and do the same.

Can there be link for FAX for the guest members? I can get about 100 people to send fax. They are members of Indian community (many are citizens) and may not have time to make phone calls. But with simple provision to send fax at one time to all these senators, I am pretty sure I can get 100 people to send faxes.
Again the provision is required for guest members who are willing to write their address and phone number.

If you are stuck at Atlanta PERM backlog center , please email your case number and explain them that your application has been pending for a LONG time and request them to help us get out of this grave situation. Also, please post on this thread after you have sent an email so that others can be motivated to do the same. We need to send as many emails as possible to get any positive feedback. I know that DOL mentioned that they will start processing our applications soon, but we need to keep up the pressure from our end so that it has some positive effect.

I know most of the people on this forum are not in this situation ..... but let's see how many can come out of this selfishness and help others by emailing / phoning DOL Atlanta to help other brothers who want to file AOS just like them...... When phone campaigns / email campaigns happen .... we who are stuck at Atlanta help others tooo... so let's see how many on this form help us now...

    Here is the info :
    email : Perm.DFLC@dol.gov
    Phone : 404-893-0101

    Thanks
Champak (Same as 1 and 2)

I got the following information from DOL ETA website... remember the perm.dflc@dol.gov :( is not working for any inquiry. send them to PLC.Atlanta@dol.gov :)

The following is from DOL website FAQs:

    1. Where I can email my questions?
o There are three locations where you may send your questions, depending upon the type of question asked.

If you have a technical question (for example, if you forgot your password), then please email those questions to plc.help@dol.gov.

If you have a program specific question (for example, if you have a question concerning the content of an advertisement) or a policy question, then please email your questions to one of the appropriate National Processing Centers at PLC.Chicago@dol.gov (for the Chicago National Processing Center) or PLC.Atlanta@dol.gov (for the Atlanta National Processing Center). The appropriate National Processing Center depends upon the state in which you are located.

Please note: Questions should no longer be e-mailed to perm.dflc@dol.gov.

let me ask you this. did anyone from "leadership" call/email/contact you when you were inactive/busy with your life. if the leaders did not call/email you, how will you know if your help is needed. i don't see how its u'r fault

yep, they did, they called email me and asked me to contact other people and organize in a state chapter level. They are also helping on getting other people to help me mobilize members from a state chapter level. The point is the sense of urgency on how we need to move forward together. There is absolutely no room for confusion and I agree when people dont see results, there is always suspicion. But to build an organization from scratch is no easy task, we must recognize that and be respectful of people who do put their time and efforts to make things happen. We all must channelize our energy to making this successful. Everyone has their opinions and I respect that, but I am more interested on hearing solutions if you see there is no progress. Simply asking for change but knowing what change means to all of us will have no takers!

One last question, if you don't mind.

I assume yours is a conventional loan, how much equity do you have on your home, and how much down payment did you make on your home purchase first time?

I didn't pay any points. I locked in two weeks back and closed this week. Lender is a local bank in Mass.
