Hi,
My passport expires in Jan 2010.
Is there a time frame by which I need to renew passport? Can I go sometime this month or should it be within 6 months of expiration?

The Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the Immigration Subcommittee Chairman, told the AP yesterday that he plans on introducing a comprehensive immigration reform bill before Labor Day and then hopes to have a debate on the bill in the fall. Schumer hinted that advocates for highly skilled immigrants are likely to be happier with the bill than those pushing for guest worker reforms for lesser skilled workers and that business and the unions have yet to reach a compromise. Dallas-Fort Worth Immigration Lawyer Has Just Posted the Following:
Beginning March 1, 2010, Mexico will require U.S. citizens to have valid passports when traveling to Mexico. Legal residents of the U.S. must have their green cards or other documents demonstrating legal status in the U.S.
This new rule by Mexican authorities shouldn't change travel habits, because it has been the law in the U.S. since June 2009 that U.S. travelers returning to this country from Mexico must show their passports.

USCIS continues to streamline its processing of applications and petitions with the recent change in filing locations for several forms. The following forms should be mailed to USCIS lockbox facilities rather than directly to USCIS Service Centers:
* I-129F
* I-130
* I-140
* I-526
* I-539
* I-817
The updated filing instructions can be found on the latest versions of each form, which are available for free from USCIS.
This change became effective August 3, 2010.If you recently mailed an application. Applications already en route to the Service Centers will be automatically forwarded to the appropriate lockbox for a period of 45 days. After September 17th, packages (including fees) will be returned to the applicant along with a note explaining the new filing instructions.

We did the renewal last year .. but never showed EAD. Just 485 receipt and got 4 year renewal.. Helped couple of friends to do the same and they also got the 4 yr extn.. This is in Columbus OH area. (Go to Morse rd/Karl rd or kenny rd office)

Hi,
I have got my EAD and want to do part time job as well as work on H1 for the employee who sponsored my GC, What is my status? I am still on H1 or AOS? I would be glad if someone can reply!

I was selected in H1b lottery last year however my petition was sent back to DSH for revocation.
I emailed US embassy in Pakistan a couple of time however did not receive any response from them as yet on my case status. So my petition has been returned to DSH but H1b visa has not been rejected yet.
Now another company is offering me a job. My question is that can I use my previous petition and my new employer can apply for H1b without applying for the H1B lottery again. This will be switching employer before H1b Visa approval OR is it that I will have to wait until some decision is taken on my returned petition to DSH?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!!

I really need advise. I am with Company A on H1, they filed my H1 extension 2 months ago (did not get approval yet) and they filed my I-140/485/EAD/AP(180 will be finishing after 90 days) and now I got following RFE on I-140. My lawyer has not replied yet.
Meanwhile the client where I am working has offered me full time position. Can I join this client on H1 and ask my current employer to continue my GC process and send AC21 on H1 after 180 days?
"The Master of Science Degree does not appear to be equivalent to U.S. Master Degree. Do NOT send an additional "education evaluations" that are mere advisory opinion. Submit preponderance of evidence that the beneficiary's bachelor and the master degree is U.S. equivalent based on educational records only"

Hello,
I was wondering how long it took for everyone's check to be cashed once their packages were received at the TX service center? I'm worried because from what I read before the check cashing was almost immediate, while getting a receipt actually took longer. My package was received and signed for by Michael Salcedo on November 13th, but the check still hasn't cashed and I do not have a receipt. My husband and I are planning on travelling to Canada for Christmas, will crossing the border be a problem? Any advice anyone can give would be great! Thanks in advance!

Many of us repeatedly repeated the same repeating mesage to attend DC rally so that it can repeat in the EARS of all repeatedly whining GC seekers visiting repeatedly every immigration website repeatedly thinking that their GC will come some day. Thats good to know. But what was your basic education? I mean did you had a full-time bachelor's (eg. Engineering, Commerce, etc) degree when you appled for H1b?
