Look's like the DOS is trying to maintain a year difference in the priority dates for EB2-I and EB2-C.
My guess for the April 2009 Visa Bulliten is April 1st 2004 for EB2-I and April 1st 2005 for EB2-China.

Let is choose one, otherwise we run the risk of diluting the whole idea, I have put up a poll.

Just out of curiosity, what's stopping you from doing some of these things now? You probably cannot spend 3 months with your family in India and Dubai or go to culinary school full-time but you can definitely do all the rest while on H-1B/AOS.

I think it is the perspective that has changed. Until 2 years back we were ready to die to live in this country, we thought our country was crowded, polluted etc. etc. Things haven't changed much there. It's still same, criminals are still the most powerful, power, food & Shelter is still scarce, poor count hasn't decreased. It's just we are not seeing now 'the dark side of the moon'. There's no doubt our American dream is screwed up big time. We have ruined the best times in our lives. Out of these 1 million Visa holders, 1000's would have been entrepreneurs, artists, etc. etc. but this green card chase has beaten us down to H1B Visa holder forever.
my contention is that if you had stayed back, you would not even have what you have today.
assuming that 1000's would have done something better is a VERY big assumption.

The USCIS automated line for Priority dates is still playing the PD's for June 2007 showing that EB-3 India cut off June 1st 2003 etc..
We have so contrasting images of the efficiency of USCIS. Hope they keep the same tempo as of the last week of June on Oct 1st when the FY 2008 quota kicks in.

First of all why do U wanna ask that? Its an employment based visa that ur GC is based on. So, ur employer shud ask that. Why are u asking IVans to do something which is not in their control??? I keep getting red and dont mind if I'm banned. But excuse me...u r misleading IVans. My point is this. We can protest, rally based on the delay. Thats pretty much we can do. Inquiring into a Government agency's internal affairs is none of ur business. And I repeat u dont have any rights to do that as u have NO direct link to USCIS. I think more than 90% of companies in service industries have more than 50% emps in H1/L1. The fees may be indirectly passed to the employees in terms of cut in salary or cut in profit sharing.

I think most of the guys n gals will be busy with their paper work for I-485, 765 and 131. I am guessing once the dust settles most of them will come back and contribute generously.
I know most of you know the magnitude of impact IV has in the decision of the reversal of July 2nd update.I am in my 8th year of H1B and I wish IV has arrived 2 to 3 years back, but I am happy better late than never.

The issue has two legs:
Leg 1: Process fix
Leg 2: Increasing number of greencards
What I am talking about is leg 1 and what you are talking about is for leg 2
and both are required.
I am not discouraging you for taking initiative - I am for it - let this be the first step towards doing something - but looks like we lack directive and path of execution.

This forum is for immigration purpose ..yes ..but if someone wants to educate themselves on other related/non related topics that should be fine a long as they are not forcing anyone to answer their question or coming in the way of the purspose of the forum..
any day better than some of the non-informative,unhealthy topics that have been discussed here..
